Hampton - Funeral service for the Honorable Lee Brown, 58, of 800 3rd Street West, will be held Monday, August 19, 2013, 1:00 P.M. at Antioch Christian Church, Varnville, S. C. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening, August 18, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Estill District Auditorium, Estill, S. C. Lee Brown was born October 18, 1954 in Hampton County, SC to the late Joseph and Pearl Maple Wilson Brown. He departed this life Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC. He was a 1974 graduate of Estill High School, Estill, SC. He furthered his education at Denmark Technical College, Denmark, SC, receiving an associate degree in Criminal Justice. He was a member of Martin Temple CME Church, Estill, SC and subsequently Greater Faith International Ministries of Varnville, SC. Lee was married the former Loretta Moore. Lee excelled in his occupation, receiving several awards and notable achievements. Lee Brown was elected Sheriff by the citizens of Hampton County for the period of 1998 through 2006. In addition to his parents, a daughter, Rasheen Brown predeceased Lee; a sister, Minnie Pearl O'Banner; (3) brothers: Thomas, Herbert, and Willie Brown. Survivors include his wife of the home, Loretta Moore-Brown; (3) Sons: Elrick Major (Pineland, SC), Lee Brown, Jr. (Denmark, SC), and Mandrel Brown (Aiken, SC); (3) Daughters: Maresha Brown (Yemassee, SC), Monica Pinckney (Stokes Bluff, SC), and Yulonda Hutchinson (Estill, SC); (2) Daughters reared as his own: Wondrika Moore (Hampton, SC) and Charlotte Dyches (Spartanburg, SC); (1) sister, Elizabeth Williams (Estill, SC); Other family members and loving friends. © The State, Columbia, SC, 18 Aug 2013
