Tommy Carter, age 60, of Augusta, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Carter.
Tommy was a long time Deputy Sheriff for Columbia County Sheriff’s Department as well as a Columbia County school bus driver.
Tommy is survived by his wife: Tammy Carter of Augusta; father: John “Bud” Carter of Augusta; children: Scarlett Carter, Caleb Carter, Christopher Carter and Ashley Dill, all of Augusta; brothers: Mitchell Carter of Evans, Jeff Carter of Martinez and Mike Carter of Augusta; one grandchild: Dustin Flowers of Augusta; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be having a memorial service Monday, August 8, 2016, at 12 PM at New Hope Worship Center, 715 S. Belair Road, Grovetown, GA 30813. Rev. Bobby Boyd and Rev. Greg Bentley officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the residence. The address is 2928 Bridgeport Drive, Augusta, GA 30909. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Arlington Burial & Cremation.
