Angel was my daughter's cat. He was born in the wild up at our Uncle David and Aunt Linda Maddox's house in Enola, Arkansas. We went up there for Thanksgiving when Megan saw him outside. She fell in love with him. Uncle David caught him then took him to my parents' house (her Mimi and Poppy) so Megan could keep the cat. He turned out to be so gentle and sweet, the name Angel came up. We all at first thought he was a she but soon realized we were wrong. Angel got to keep his name since there are male angels mentioned in the Bible and stories of male angels.

Angel lived with a miniature poodle named Copper. Copper and Angel slept together often. He also had some friends who lived at my parents' house, other cats: Smoky, Rags, Lance, and Lil One plus an aquarium of fish he liked to play with.

Angel's day was mostly filled with relaxation. From a baby he learned to be on a leash. So my mom would put him outside on a leash for awhile. Longer even after he got neutered. He slept on the back of the couch that is in the living room and in front of the picture window. He liked to sleep there, lazily watching the birds that went to the birdfeeders hanging off the front porch. Occasionally you'd see him play with the younger animals in the house.

My mom said Angel went into the bathroom and laid down on the floor very early Saturday morning. This is unusual for him. He didn't even eat anything. She said she went in there every once in awhile to check on him. She said after awhile he developed labored breathing. The next time she went in, he had died.

I don't have any pictures of him on my hard drive. I'm going to have to scan some in so that'll be awhile since my scanner isn't working properly. He was a huge cat weighing around 23 pounds. He had the markings of a cinnamon point Siamese. His white was more of an off-white color. He was short hair.

My parents live on a corner lot and a half. The half lot is empty, mainly used for a garden spot and compost. My dad buried Angel in that area.
