William Conner was born in Preston Co. WV in to Robert and Nancy Ann (Maxon) Conner. He married Theodotia Layton on Sep 2 1841 in Washington Co. Iowa. In 1847, with brothers Nathan, Job and sister Sarah Ann (Conner) Franklin, they joined the Buell wagon train to Oregon. William farmed his donation land claim 3090 1/2 in Polk Co. Oregon. His wife died in 1855, and he next married Jane Hicklin on July 1 1863. He died at the home of his son Perry.
