Fux's many religious works are seldom performed today, his operas not at all. But his treatise on counterpoint, "Gradus ad Parnassum" (1725), is still a standard musical text. It was studied by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, and famously mocked by Debussy in his piano suite, "Children's Corner."
