Saturday, 5 July 1958

HARTSVILLE [Darlington Co.]—Funeral services for Mrs. Corinne Watkins Alford, 57, who died in Columbia [Lexington Co.] will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from New Market Methodist Church.... Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Alford was born in Hartsville and lived several years in Charleston before moving to Columbia. She was a daughter of the late Johnny Watkins and Mrs. Daisy Johnson Watkins.

She was co-owner of the W.B. Alford drapery shop in West Columbia. Mrs. Alford was a past commander of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Wardie B. Alford; two daughters, Mrs. Fred McDonald, Greenville, and Mrs. R.E. Johnson, Billings, Mont.; two sons, W.B. Jr., West Columbia, and W.E. Alford, Gaston; four sisters, Mrs. William Dodge, Mrs. Tessie Barnett, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. M.E. Gurney, Charleston, Mrs. Dannie Davis, New Castle, Penn.; a brother, Leon Watkins, Hartsville.
