I've been told by people they didn't want black cats for the reasons mentioned in this video. Boo Bear was never bad luck and filled our home with love. As you can see he took great selfies, too! :)

*♥ ════════════════════♥*༺✿༻*♥ ════════════════════♥*

Boo Bear was a special cat, one which is rare and finds an extra special spot in the heart.
He showed up at our door as a stray around the end of May, 2012. He was still a young little guy, not quite fully grown. He sat outside our screened in porch looking in through our double doors crying his little woeful heart out. On the second day I realized someone had dumped him and a little pregnant female, whom he adored. She would come around only once in a while but Boo would stay outside our door, never leaving. He would put his pudgy little black paws up onto the screen and wail until finally on that second day I let him in for a visit, as we were not aloud to keep pets.
He was such a loving little guy and I could tell he was bewildered at why he had been dumped. All he wanted to do was to be somebody's little kitty. He so adored people. He never new an enemy, which I know was his undoing, as there are such cruel and heartless people who would rather see an animal suffer and die than receive the blessings of their love. At first I planned to take him to a shelter where he could find a loving and deserving home, and knew whoever would take him home would be very blessed.
We caught walking pneumonia as it was going around and my mom had a very bad case of it. So, finding Boo a new home was put onto the back burner. He would stay with us until we got better and I could get him a new home.
The raging heat hit in July so he remained inside during the daytime. In the evenings I would open the patio door wide enough so he could slip through and come and go as he pleased. I removed the bottom screen panel on the screen door and he would slip into the night to do his kitty things which all cats love to do, purring all the while as he slipped away...

Boo never had a mean bone in his little sweet body. He thought everyone and everything was his friend. He thought raccoons were his sisters and brothers, and possums his distant cousins. He would never get very close to the possums, tho he found them fascinating. Boo would not chase mice away. Instead he would bring them inside and play with them, at my dismay! They always died on the spot from fright and I would have to bury them. He could never understand why they died and would whimper over his little buddy being gone. On several occasions he would bring in the neighborhood cats as if to say, "This is my home, where I live and play, and this is my people mommy who takes care of me." His pals would see me and fly out the door as quickly as possible since they were wild! Only once did his girlfriend stay in our place. It was during the time the lawn crew came, who are cruel to any cats. She came running in terrified and trembling all over and ran behind the couch. I checked on her as she huddled shaking with fear. I told her she was safe and no one would hurt her here. She fell asleep and slept for two hours straight. When she awoke she ate her fill of food and water, then quietly strolled out the door.
Woogie Bear was one of a kind. He absolutely loved green Spanish or Greek olives. He would purr the entire time he ate them, occasionally rubbing his cheeks on them. He also loved cherry pinwheel tarts. Whenever I fed him his canned cat food I would set him on his special towel with his bowl. He had trouble biting so he would lick his food up by his tongue. I would have to scoop his food back to the center of the bowl several times until he had his fill. He loved Greenies, the Roasted Chicken flavored treats were his favorite. Every evening he would get a few to nibble on.
He would follow me from room to room. If I was out of his sight for a moment he would come find me, purring and wrapping himself around my legs. He would love the times when I would sit in the bedroom with mom and talk. I would sit in the glider rocker at the window and he would climb up onto the bed with mom and purr, making bread the whole time we would sit and talk until he fell asleep. He would follow me into the bathroom and play in the tub. When the toilet would flush he would hop out of the tub and run to the toilet. He would prop his paws onto the seat, hanging them over the edge and put his head onto his paws as he watched the water dance and swirl as it flowed down this magical tunnel. After it swirled away he would talk to it as it swirled back again. An absolute mystery to him. He would sit back down onto the floor again and look up at me and meow. As the door opened he would trot down the hall with me, ever my little shadow.

He was pudgy and lovable. When I slept if he wanted me to wake up he would sit watching me as he purred loudly. If that didn't do the trick he would poke my cheek with his cold wet nose. He'd poke me several times. That often did the trick, but if not he would then walk on me, and he was no small cat! That ALWAYS woke me up.
In the Fall he would love to run and hop down the middle of the driveway with his tail hooked into the air while he would chase leaves along the way. Boo loved life and he loved people. He never knew a stranger. Often I would hear people stop to talk to him and pet him. He was a likable little guy.
I thought I had finally found him a permanent home where he would live in the country and had plans to take him there but the woman kept asking us for more things for us to give her for taking him. I finally told her to quit calling since it was obvious she truly did not want him but rather other things which she kept adding to her must have list. What I soon learned was Boo already had a permanent home with us.
We decided since we had him this long we would keep him.
During one night in the winter of 2012 he went out for his nightly kitty time. He came home in the wee hours of the night and was having trouble walking. I picked him up and saw on his back right leg huge patches of fur were missing. By the marks on his injured, trembling leg it was clear that he had been caught in a trap yet somehow managed to get away. We treated him and soon he was well and to our surprise his velvety thick soft fur all grew back. I will always believe that anyone who prefers to hurt animals and wishes a sweet little creature of God harm are the sort of people who have dark hearts and are the kind of people who only help themselves. To them life is about what they can get rather than the living and loving.
We have been so blessed to have had him as a little fury friend. Last summer I bought him a tiny stuffed cat toy monkey which he dearly loved. He played with it for so long it was sopping wet when he was done. He also loved little tiny stuffed mice in blue and beige and a plush orange carrot with feathers which I put catnip inside for him. O HAPPY DAY! He loved that carrot his pals Jamie, Julie, and Jennifer bought for him just this year. Boo would never play with a ball. He looked at me as if I had deeply insulted him! Playing with balls was beneath his station in Kat Kingdom.
Boo Bear loved to go out and visit the neighbors, especially the mechanics at a nearby garage. I'm sure he also loved greeting the customers and soaking in all the attention they would dote on him. He would even stay there over night from time to time. He always came home tho and he always smelled like the garage. He would also visit the homeless men who would camp in the woods. He would get loved by all of us and well fed, too.
We kept him safe and well cared for. Recently in the early morning he slipped indoors to have some nibbles of dry food and set out to do his kitty important things. I know he has passed because he always came home after a day or so, but not this time. After searching for him and making calls I know he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I can take solace in my heart though that he was well cared for, had a safe harbor, and was very, very loved by many while he lived. One morning a week after he disappeared at about the same time he always came in to have his nibbles of dry food tidbits before heading out again I heard something crunching the dry cat food I had set outside for him to eat, perhaps even as he was along his way on his journey to the Bridge. I went out to check the bowl of food and no food was gone from the bowl. Did he stop by for one last nibble and one last farewell before crossing the Bridge? I believe he did. It was his last nudge of love and farewell. He will always be remembered and loved.
