LEDFORD
Martha Ann, daughter of Henry and Esther Garlock, was born Apr. 3, 1846, in the state of West Virginia, and departed this life Wednesday, June 25, 1930. At the age of nine years she came with her parents to Missouri where she has since resided.
She was united in marriage with G.F. Ledford, Apr. 12, 1870, who preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1913. To this union was born six children, Mrs. Essie Jones of Unionville, H.W. Ledford of Unionville, Anna Bennett of Cameron, Mattie Schuster of Worthington, and Lucian Ledford of Stahl, Missouri. One daughter, Mrs. Sarah Jane Martin, preceded her in death. Besides the above named children, she is survived by two brothers, Lucian and Harrison Garlock of Brashear; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
At the age of 21 she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the United Brethren Church of which she remained a faithful member until the end. At the time of her passing Mrs. Ledford had attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 22 days.
Life's battles have been fought, her race has been won; the faith was kept, there has opened up to her the glorious privilege of enjoying the realities of that place Jesus spoke about when he said, "In My Father's House are Many Mansions".
Funeral services were conducted at the home of her son, Lucian Ledford, after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Ledford Cemetery.
