Mrs. Goslin
Mrs. Harley Goslin, 64, 402 Forest View Ave., a prize-winning artist, died Saturday at a hospital here after a brief illness.
Mrs. Goslin, the former Beatice L. Bailey, won acclaim for her artistry in many places. She was represented at the 26th annual exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists at the American Fine Arts society gallery in New York in 1942.
Mrs. Goslin won first place in the five-state exhibition at the Joslyn memorial in Omaha in 1937 and exhibited pictures at the Iowa State fair artists salon, twice winning second place.
Her skill in oil painting took took her to many galleries. One of her numerous canvases was "Four of a Kind."
She was born Jan. 4, 1904, in Belmond, Iowa. She was graduated from high school there in 1922. She then attended the Minneapolis Art Institute.
She was married Feb. 4, 1923, to Mr. Goslin in Minneapolis. They moved to Sioux City In 1925.
Mrs. Goslin was a member of the Sioux City Woman's club.
Survivors include the widower, and a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Anderson of Lewiston, Idaho.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home. The Rev. LaVerne K. Clark of First Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sidney Hoover, Robert James, Lyle Morgan, Maurice Stephenson, Phillip Brennan and Miles Cronk.
