Services for E.J. French Sr., 85, will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) in the Austin Street Church of Christ with Gary Dennis, Minister, officiating.
Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock under the direction of George C. Price Funeral Directors.
He died at 12:03 a.m. Monday in Methodist Hospital, Levelland following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Indian Territory, Okla. He moved to Ropesville Community in 1924 from Paducah. He moved to Levelland in 1932 where he was engaged in farming until his retirement. He married Anna Belle Cline Dec. 27, 1926 in Roswell, N.M. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Austin Street Church of Christ. He was a member of the Levelland Masonic Lodge #1236 A.F. & A.M. and had received a 50 year pin.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, E.J. Jr. of Whiteface, Gene Weldon of Phoenix, Ariz., Jack Rae of Whieface and Joe Wayne of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Janice Gillespie of Morton;
six sisters, Nora Huffman of San Diego, Calif; Vera Elkins of San Diego, Calif., Ann Ferguson of Mesa, Ariz., Cynthia Gover of Roswell, N.M., Sue Shaw of Roswell, N.M. and Hazel Melton of Portales, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-children.
The pallbearers will be Terry Gillespie, Carey Brooker, Larry Baldwin, Weldon French, Mike Box, Mitch Stacy, Mark French and Joe French Jr.
