Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Otis Olen Shaw, 81, of 1402 S. Pennsylvania Ave., who died Sunday at St. Mary's Regional Health Center.
The Rev. Bill Jones of the Tinnie Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Ballard FuneralHome.
Mr. Shaw was born on June 7,1903, in Pooleville, Okla., to Mr. and Mrs. James W. Shaw, both now deceased.
He was married Dec. 22, 1928, in Lubbock, Texas, to Sue French, who survives him.
Shaw had been a resident of New Mexico since 1935, and a resident of Roswell since 1949, moving here from SantaRosa. He was in the civil service at Walker Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range until he retired in1972.
He also owned and operated an apple orchard in the Hondo Valley until recently.
Shaw was a member of the Tinnie Baptist Church and served as a deacon in the church. He was also a member of the Masonic Carrizozo Lodge No. 41, A.F. & A.M. of New Mexico.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy C. Shaw of Roswell, Jerry W. Shaw of Socorro and Otis M. Shaw of Albuquerque; one daughter, Patricia Y. Richardson of Fort Stockton, Texas; one sister, MamieFrench of Roswell; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
