PVT PA Rifle Regt. Rev. WarJohn Phillip Frey was married to Anna Margareta Kolb. She was baptized in Upper Milford Twsp, Northampton Co, PA in 1762,, which is now known as Whitehall, Lehigh Co., PA. She was the daughter of John Adam Kolb and Anna Latgar. Phillip Frey served during the Revolutionary War with Capt Henry Shades' Rifle Regiment of PA. He was discharged in 1778 while at Valley Forge. He had a son Carl (Charles) Frey who was born in 1794 and lived in Williams Twsp, Northampton Co., PA. Charles was married to a woman by the name of Catherine Wolbach. They had a daughter named Diana Frey who married Martin Eppler in 1850 in Easton, Northampton Co., PA. Phillip's father was John Frey who is buried in Westmoreland Co., PA and his 1st wife was Dorothea Bobb who is buried in Bedminister, Bucks Co., PA. John's 2nd wife is mentioned without last name, as Anna Maria . (Please note: According to the records from the Tohickon Reformed Union Church in Beminister, Bucks Co.,PA, Phillip (also known as John Phillip Frey) was born 20 March 1757 and baptized April of 1757, so the grave marker is wrong with the 1756 date of birth, for all the records indicate that Phillip was born on this 1757 date and his date of death has always been the same as listed on the gravestone in 1836).
