Officer Moore was killed on New Years Day, 1937, when he was riding his motorcycle in the course of his duties as a San Bernadino Police Officer. He was hit by a drunk driver while directing traffic at the city's New Year's Day Parade. The force of the collision knocked him 53-feet through the air.
