A native of Hornbeck, he was born Jan. 30, 1926. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He died on June 5, 1988 following a brief illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Robinson, Yazoo City, Miss.; one son, David Andrew Jones, Yazoo City, Miss.; three sisters, Ruby Austin, Texas, Bonnie Wallace and Mytis Jackson, both of Baton Rouge; his fiancé, Jo Ann Jones and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Gene Lachney, Kenny Blount, Ronnie Jones, Jerry Jones, Huey Johnson, Daren Chapman, Ricky Browning and Keith Holley.
