Funeral services for Luther Sylvester Jones, 62, of Winnsboro, were held on Tuesday, June 7, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery, with the Rev. Francis Williams officiating.
A native of Hornbeck, he was born Jan. 30, 1926. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He died on June 5, 1988 following a brief illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Robinson, Yazoo City, Miss.; one son, David Andrew Jones, Yazoo City, Miss.; three sisters, Ruby Austin, Texas, Bonnie Wallace and Mytis Jackson, both of Baton Rouge; his fiancé, Jo Ann Jones and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Gene Lachney, Kenny Blount, Ronnie Jones, Jerry Jones, Huey Johnson, Daren Chapman, Ricky Browning and Keith Holley.
