Ronald Alan "Ron" Benoit, 68, of Lake Charles died at 4:20 AM Friday, January 29, 2010 at his dad's home with family at his side. Mr. Benoit was born on February 2, 1941 in Lake Charles to James Harold and Marvel Kiser Benoit. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and later served in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. Mr. Benoit later moved to Baton Rouge and went to work for the State of Louisiana as a property manager for the Department of Rehabilitation. Ron retired from the state after many years of service. After retiring he loved camping and spending time with his family and friends. Ronald was a faithful member of the W.B. Williamson Post #1 American Legion. Those left to cherish in his memory include his father and his step-mother of Lake Charles, his brother and wife of Lake Charles, and his sister and her husband of Sulphur, three step-sisters; two nieces; one nephew; two great nieces; one great nephew. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother Marvel Kiser Benoit, his maternal grandparents Gladys and Leslie Kiser, paternal grandparents Eugene and Rita Benoit. Mr. Benoit's funeral was held Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Dan Landry officiated.
