Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Cruz, 55 of New Llano, LA passed away Saturday June 29, 2013, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was born September 4, 1957, in Junction City, Kansas. Cindy was a graduate of Waynesville High School in Waynesville, Missouri.

Cindy was a Wal-Mart employee for the past 21 years. Before beginning her career at Wal-Mart, she was a faithful volunteer at the Main Post Chapel on Fort Polk, where she received various outstanding achievement awards. Prior to this, she was a soldier in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1982.

Cindy is survived by her two children, son and daughter-in-law of San Antonio, TX; daughter and son-in-law of Hornbeck, LA and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday July 5, 2013 at Grace Bible Church, Leesville, Louisiana, Pastor Larry Davis officiated. A private interment will follow at a later date at the Central Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery.
