Funeral services for Roosevelt Cousin, Jr., 62, of Leesville, Louisiana were held Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial followed in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Roosevelt Cousin Jr., resident of Leesville, La., departed from this life on July 3, 2013.

Roosevelt will be greatly missed. A kind, gentle, and compassionate person, he was trustworthy and generous to a fault. Roosevelt was born on the 8th of May, 1951, to the marriage union of the late Carrie Epting and the late Roosevelt Cousin, Sr. At an early age Roosevelt accepted Christ and remained a faithful member of Pleasant Grove AME Church until he moved from Morton, Ms.

Roosevelt graduated from Bettye Mae Jack High School in Morton, Ms., and furthered his education at Prentiss Community College in Prentiss, Ms. He later enlisted in the United States Army where he faithfully served his country in the Vietnam War. Later after attending Common Wealth Institute of Funeral Service, in Houston, TX, he earned an AA Mortuary of Science degree, in 1988.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, whom he met while serving a tour of duty in Korea; two daughters; two sons; three sisters; a granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hayes

Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
