A memorial celebration honoring the life of Lee Roy Allison was held at the American Legion Post 3 at 3125 Rapides Avenue, Alexandria, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Charlie Parent officiated. Visitation will be immediately following the celebration service at the American Legion hall.

Lee Roy Allison, 77, died peacefully at his home on September 30,2012.

He was born on April 6, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee. Lee was a retired seaman and Korean War Veteran. Lee resided in Slidell, until 2004, when he relocated to Alexandria, with his wife.

Lee was a proud and patriotic Veteran, serving as a member of the Forty and Eight, American Veteran Post 0007, and the American Legion Post 3, Commander from 2008-2010. Lee loved history and the pursuit of knowledge. He was a man of deep faith and loved God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Edward Allison and Ada Christine Griffie Allison, and his brother COL John "Jack" Allison, Ret.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; one brother; step-children; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge the love and support of friends who have been a part of Lee's life. To know him was to love him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lee's honor may be made to the American Legion, Post 3.
