Kayla Ferrante, 17, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. Born March 8, 1995 in Tulsa, OK. She was the loving daughter of Paul John Ferrante and Roxanne (Greenhaw) and Andy Thornton.
Kayla was headed home with her boyfriend trying to make a midnight curfew and she was within a half block of her residence when shots were fired at the car they were in, striking her one time and ultimately causing her death.
Kayla graduated May 25, 2012 from Memorial High School and was to begin at TCC on June 4 with a focus on Occupational Therapy to help children with special needs.
Survived by father, Paul John Ferrante; mother and step-father, Roxanne and Andy Thornton, brother, Hunter Thornton, all of Tulsa, OK; grandmother, Paulette Ferrante; grandparents, Duane and Evelyn Thornton, all of Broken Arrow, OK; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Richard Ferrante; maternal grandmother, Jeri Meyer; maternal grandfather, Finis Greenhaw.
Visitation 12PM- 8PM, with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Moore's Southlawn.
