Barry D. ROBINSON
"Barry D. Robinson Age 48 of Newport, DE died January 4, 2005 at his home, which he completely renovated and transformed with the gracious help of loving friends over the past 20 years.
Born in Wilmington, Barry was a graduate of Delcastle High School, who worked to become a master carpenter and was a respected construction manager for 20 years with Snyder Crompton Associates. Recently, he founded his own company, Signature Builders, with the vision of fine craftsmanship.
During his youth, Barry earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. Later, he applied his skillful approach and love of music to the guitar. He played lead guitar for the local rock group, Noxx, for over 10 years and continued to be a welcome guest to the stage whenever he was in the audience. Barry was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and a great cook.Barry was known for his drive for perfection and strong work ethic that he applied to everything he loved. Likewise, he enjoyed many enduring friendships of mutual love and appreciation. In June of 1983, he married Deborah Ward, with whom he fathered 2 bright, introspective boys who will surely aspire to their father's distinction in their own pursuits.Deb and Barry shared 21 years of a loving marriage and opened their home and their hearts to all who have known them. Barry will be remembered for his tall stature, his hearty sense of humor, musical talent, generous nature and willingness to help others. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was predeceased by his father, Reese C. Robinson; and his sister, Cheryl Sue Robinson. Barry is survived by his wife, Debbie; their sons, Chase (18) and Christopher (15); his mother, Margaret; brothers, Reese and his wife, Marianne, and David and his wife, Teri; sister, Linnea; brother-in-law, Mike Ward and his wife, Donna; 3 nieces; 5 nephews; and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 2 pm at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road, where friends may call after 12:30.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barry Robinson Memorial Fund, c/o WSFS bank, 4730 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
