Son of Ethel Pittman He married Alice Marie Johnson
on Sept. 27 1941. Brother of, Cordia,Father of Betty Darlene, James Ralph, Marion Daniel, and Margaret Leean. Grandfather of Carl Dewayne, Jenny Marie, James Ralph Jr. Sharon Elizabeth, Charles Walter, Ricky, Bobby, Amanda, Marie. Great grandfather of, Baine, Chynna,Megan, Joshua, Elizabeth,Faith,Carl Jr. Joshua Dale, Owen, Emma Bryant Taylor and Jordan Tyler. Beloved Husband and father.
He served in WWII,Company L. 160th Infantry. fought in Southern Phillipines, Luzon, Bismarck Archipelago.Leyte. Was wounded in Molo Panay March 20, 1945. Recipient of the Purple heart and four bronze campaign stars and one bronze star for meritorious service. Retired from Martin Marietta. Now, those are the stats,, what this does not say, is what a wonderful father this man was, his caring, guidence, and downright good judgement in rearing children, resulted in some fine citizens of this country. He not only loved our mother, but he worshipped the ground she walked on. Not a day went by that she not only heard how much she was loved, but was shown how much she was loved by this man. He taught that love was unconditional, and everlasting. Thanks Papa.
