NIMITZ -- Lalon May Tyree Ellison, 90, of Nimitz, Summers County, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Richmond Bottom, Raleigh County, and was a lifelong resident of Summers County.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Hinton, received a teaching certificate from Concord Normal School (Concord College) in 1926 and taught in Summers and Raleigh counties.

Surviving: son, Garland Tyree of Nimitz; stepson, Eldridge Ellison Jr. of Hinton; stepdaughters, Jean Harvey of Nimitz, Margie Allen of Hilldale; nephews, Jack Richmond of Hinton, William Smith of Medina, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton, with the Rev. Gary Adkins and the Rev. Carl Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Burial Park, Hinton.
