SHREVEPORT, LA – Celebration of Life services for Tommy Keith Cryer, 62, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with the Lodge of Sorrow Masonic presentation.
Tommy Cryer was born September 11, 1949, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Thomas Preston and Marjorie Iva Gibson Cryer and was called home June 4, 2012, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, Louisiana - graduating third in his class in 1967. Tommy received the American Heritage Award, Continental Oil Scholarship, T. H. Harris Scholarship, JFK Memorial Scholarship and the Civitan Award. Tommy was involved in several activities at Houston High such as Football letterman, FBLA, Beta Club, Drama Club founder and Literary Rally.
He attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, B.A. 1970 (Psychology, Sociology, Military Science and Pre-law), 3.4 GPA. Tommy achieved a multi-major degree in three years at McNeese University.
Tommy attended LSU Law School, Baton Rouge, LA, J.D. 1973, Honor Graduate, Order of the Coif and inducted LSU Law School Hall of Fame, 1987.
He served this grateful nation by serving his country as Captain in the U.S. Army, Adjutant General Corps.
