Marvin E. Bixler, 77, of Turbotville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, Muncy.

Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Elimsport, he was the son of George M. and Ida J. Pauling Bixler. He married the former Donna E. Wolfe on Nov. 14, 1959, and they have celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Marvin retired from PPL in 1976. After retirement, he was a farmer.

Marvin was an Army veteran, a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, Watsontown and the Muncy Masonic Lodge No. 299. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Lisa K. Bixler of Watsontown; sons and a daughter-in-law, Todd A. and his wife Cassie Bixler and Terry W. Bixler, all of Turbotville; brothers and sister-in-laws, Curtis and his wife Lucille Bixler of Exton; Larry and his wife Nancy Bixler of Bellefonte and Donald Bixler of South Williamsport; a sister and a brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Packard of State College and grandchildren, Amanda and Jesse Bixler.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was predeceased by a brother, James Bixler and a sister, Lucy Felix.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville. A Masonic service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Friendship Baptist Church, Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, with Rev. Jerry L. Caswell, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Lung Association of PA, 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
