Chipman—-An official telegram announcing the death of private Lloyd Hargrave, was received by his brother, Luther, this week. Lloyd was killed in action in North Africa, Mar. 23. A letter from him written the first part of March had been received.

Lloyd was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hargrave and is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Clark, Arthur, Robert, John, James and Luther, Marion, Dorothy and Annabelle, the latter in California. Robert is in service somewhere in India, and John with the Merchant Marines.

A stepmother, Mrs. Hannah Hargrave at home is also left to mourn his loss as she is devoted to her husband's family.

The sympathy of many relatives and friends is extended to the family. This strikes home to every heart as it is the first fatality among the many soldiers from this community.
