A World War II veteran of the US Navy, he served aboard the destroyer USS Stembel. He was an electrical engineer employed by the Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle. While there, he received a U.S. patent for a high temperature strain gauge. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church where he was active as a lector and volunteer for Friend to Friend and the Blind and Terminally Ill.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters; two sons-in-law; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister.
