My mom loved life, laughter and fun. She loved playing jokes. She was good at anything she put her mind to do. She taught herself to decorate cakes that looked like a pro. She oil painted. She canned all types of
vegetables grown from her garden. She was an
excellent cook.
She was in charge of Castleberry Baptist Church's kitchen. Making sure all functions were well taken
care of. She knitted, crochet, sewed all her own
dresses.

She lost her three year battle with breast cancer. She wrote this poem and put it on the door of her hospital room.

If you are not optimistic-
do not enter this room.
There's no place inside
for sadness and gloom.
Enter with a smile
leave with a broad grin.
This battle I'm fighting,
you'll help me to win.
My FATHER is the KING
who owns all lands.
This problem I have
rest's in HIS HANDS.
