As a very young woman she had to ride a horse to get to school to teach the children. At one time she was a rural mail carrier and also the Acting Postmaster of Avoca, OK.
She was treasured by her children and grandchildren. One nicknamed her, 'Lilly Peaches.'
She was my husband's great grandmother.
