She was the d/o Jacob Frazier Edwards and Abigail Adkins.She was one of 7 children. On 10-18-1865 she married Elias Bradford Gilpin in Boone Co., MO. To them 6 children were born. They migrated into OK. by 1892 to Wynnewood, Garvin Co. and finally settled in Avoca, Pottawatomie Co., OK. while it was still Indian Territory. Most, if not all, of their children moved with them.
After Elias' death in 1903, Mary married Tom McCoglan on 11-12-1919 in Garvin Co., OK. Like her husband, Elias, she and Tom are buried in Wanette Cemetery. Mary is next to Elias. Headstone reads: "GO AND DWELL WITH HIM. HAPPY IN THE SAVIOR'S FOLD. "MOTHER".
