AFLLEJE Francisco Frank Aflleje, lifelong native of Jacksonville, Florida passed away unexpectedly April 22nd, 2014. Born August 3, 1946 in the Philippines to Francisco N. Aflleje and Anacorita V. Aflleje, Frank was the oldest of eight boys. They soon moved to Florida and made Jacksonville their home. Frank lived life to the fullest and had many loves. He loved his kids and grandkids most. Frank also loved Filipino cuisine, (eating it and cooking it- who could forget the super sized pans of pancit?) He loved fishing, golf, music, spending time with his family, good friends, a cold beer, beautiful women, the Seminoles, and irreverent jokes (not necessarily in that order!) He loved to tell stories about growing up and going to school on the Westside of Jacksonville. Being a friend to all and loved by many, there was always an abundance of stories to tell. Frank's love for music and meeting people meant he could often be found at the local VFW or one of his other favorite hang outs relaxing with friends or performing an impromptu singing session on stage with the band. He could hit the high harmonies with the best of them. Frank's legacy includes three wonderful children: Jenny Aflleje Herendeen of California, Brad Aflleje and his wife Eireann of Jacksonville, and Amanda Aflleje Lee and her husband Chris also of Jacksonville. They are the true loves of his life along with his greatest joys, his grandchildren, Caitlin, Dylan, Brennan, Kaia, and Michael. Left to continue the tradition of passing down his stories and telling those irreverent jokes at Thanksgiving are his brothers, Manuel, Richard, Bobby, Wayne and George. He also leaves a large group of sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who love him and will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of the Apostles.
