City Woman Dies Today

Mrs. Agnes Sarah Coppenbarger, 87, Avalon Rest Home, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the home following an extended illness. She was a resident here for 40 years.

She was born Jan. 20, 1880, in Pennsylvania to Henry Seanor and Nancy Brown Seanor and moved to Winchester, Kan., at a very early age in a covered wagon with her parents. She moved to Geuda Springs, then moved to Arkansas City in 1927.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1931, her parents, one son, Clay Randolph Coppenbarger, one infant daughter, five brothers, Cam, Frank, Burt, John and Welty Seanor and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lumry. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene.

Survivors include one son, Orville Coppenbarger, 2900 N. Summit St., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of Nazarene with Rev. Charles S. Shreffler offficiating. Burial will be in the Hope cemetery under the direction of the Jess Rindt and son Memorial Chapel.
