Dies; Was Formerly Sumner Co. Farmer
Charled Edward Coppenbarger, 61 years old, widely known farmer formerly of Sumner county west of Arkansas City, died at 5:30 Friday afternoon at his home, 620 South Sixth street. He had been ill for some time with a heart ailment. Mr. Coppenbarger was born in Sumner county. He moved to Texas about 25 years ago and five years ago returned to Arkansas City.
Surviving are a son, Orville, Wichita; a brother, E.B. Coppenbarger, Arkansas City and two sisters, Mrs. E.W. Peters, Ashton, and Mrs. Frank Hutchins, Geuda Springs. Mr. Coppenbarger was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Coppenbarger, pioneer residents of the country south of Geuda Springs. The son was in Arkansas City Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon in the First Presbyterian church here. Dr. Frederick Maier will officiate.
