James BARNES died at his home near Williamstown at an early hour Friday morning of dropsy of which disease he had been a sufferer for quite a while. He was quite aged, being in the neighborhood of 65 years at the time of his death. He was a man of limited means but bore a reputation for honesty among his fellow men, always being prompt in the settlement of his obligations. He was a soldier in the revolution, and drawing a pension at the time of his death. Deceased was the father of a large family of children, most of whom are grown. The remains were interred in Underwood cemetery near Williamstown Saturday morning.
Mrs. BARNES wishes to thank her neighbors and friends for their kind assistance during the illness of her husband, who has passed over the river of death.
