Songwriter. A native of Swan, Texas, he became one of America's most prolific sacred songwriters. He wrote over one hundred thirty songs, published fourteen hymnals and taught in singing schools around America for over sixty years. Some of his hymns include "Worthy Art Thou," "Heaven Holds All to Me" and "Oft We Come Together."
