Thelma Gladys Carlton went home to Jesus on February 16, 2021, in Denton Texas, at the age of 87.
Thelma Gladys was born to Clifford and Thelma Gladys Stockard on April 5, 1933, in Lake Dallas, Texas. As a child she excelled in school, enjoyed drama, and pep squad at Lewisville High School, home of the Fighting Farmers.
She met the love of her life, Danny Ray Carlton, also a Lewisville Farmer, and they were inseparable. They married September 30, 1950, in the presence of their families. They had two daughters, Becky Ann Carlton and Judy Raye Carlton.
She is survived by her daughters, Becky Ann Crain and Judy Raye Comried, their spouses, Don Crain and Richard Comried. Grandchildren that she loved and cared for, Lorrie David, Kristy Dice, David Shepard, Monica Monasmith, Jordan Crain, and Kelley Stuckey; Eleven Great Grandchildren that she enjoyed, and five Great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Morriss, and Ruth Slater, Brothers Carl Stockard, and Al Stockard, their spouses and multiple nieces and nephews.
Her husband Danny passed away February 14, 1983. She loved him with all her heart and is now reunited with him in the Lord. She also joins her parents, siblings Glenn Curtis Stockard, Raymond Stockard, Mary Jo Williams, and her great grandson Ian Key.
She dearly loved her family and showed it in selfless acts of love throughout her life. This was also evident in her church and community. The people of Lake Shore Baptist Church were a very big part of her family. She loved and prayed for each of them daily. She was a mighty prayer warrior.
Pallbearers will be David Shepard, Cody Shepard, Cole David, Ethan Monasmith, David Monasmith, and Scott Dice.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am, February 27, 2021, at Lake Shore Baptist Church, Lake Dallas Texas. Pastor Homer Walkup will officiate, and honorary minister Dr. Ben Smith will share a word. Burial will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas. Services will be live streamed at LSBC.life.
Arrangements are by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritans Purse, or Samaritans Purse /Operation Christmas Child.
