Daughter of Charles Wyman ("Charlie") MORSE and of Harriet Bishop ("Hattie") HUSSEY Morse (both of whom are buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath, Sagadahoc, ME) and wife of Dr. Jacob Casson ("Jake") GEIGER (burial in the same cemetery with her), with whom she had one daughter, Anita Celine GEIGER Bordwell (buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside, CA).

Dr. J. C. Geiger to Marry Miss Anna Morse of N. Y.

New York, Oct. 31. -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Morse, who live at the Hotel Woodward, announce the engagement of Mr. Morse's daughter, Miss Anna Elsie Morse, to Dr. John [sic] Casson Geiger of California.

Miss Morse, whose mother died when she was a child, spent her youth with her aunt, Miss Jennie R. Morse of Bath, Me. She is a graduate of the Finch School in New York and is active in the social work of St. Sherar's Episcopal Church.

Mr. Geiger is connected with the scientific research division of the United States Public Health Service and is serving on a scientific commission with the University of California and Leland Stanford University. He is a native of Louisiana. He served through the war with the rank of major.

Mrs. Anne Geiger

Special to the Town Talk

San Francisco - Mrs. Anne Morse Geiger, 80, of San Francisco died here recently.

She was the wife of Dr. J. C. Geiger, city director of public health for 21 years and a native of Alexandria, La.

Mrs. Geiger was known for her volunteer work, particularly for 5,000 hours spent in hospital wards during World War II, when she also was head of volunteer nurses' aides for the Red Cross in San Francisco.

She was a regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a state director of the Salvation Army.

Survivors, besides her husband, include two sons [sic], Dr. James Geiger and John C. Geiger, and a daughter, Mrs. Anita Bordwell.

[ They were her stepsons. ]
