Trecinda Mayo, the sixth child of John and Mary Mayo, was born in North Carolina, July 9, 1843. She departed this life May 24, 1922, at Clemons, Iowa.
When five years of age her parents moved to Indiana staying there for a few months. In the same year they came to Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was united in marriage Nov. 22, 1860 to Thomas Ringland Andrew at West Point, Iowa. To this union were born five children, George Stuart Andrew of Colfax, William Ellsworth of Spring Hill, Oscar James of Norwalk, who died Sept. 17, 1921; Mary Lillian of Clemons, and Blanche F. Cook of New Providence.
The husband and father died Dec. 22, 1910. Besides the four children, she leaves 15 grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward Mayo, other relatives and many friends.
She had lived at Spring Hill, in Warren County, since 1880. The last four years she had lived at Clemons with her daughter, Mary Lillian Andrew.
In her early life she belonged to the Friends church. Later in life she belonged to the Presbyterian church. She entered the fellowship of the M.E. church at Spring Hill in 1888, was a faithful member until death. She lived a consistent Christian life and was ready for the translation. Her last hours were spent in communion with her Saviour, anxious to be with Him through all eternity. Her last words were, "all His Own."
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Spring Hill, Saturday, May 27th, conducted by Rev. A. H. Adams. Burial in Webb cemetery.
