Joseph Blalock, 54, of Lake Harmony, Carbon County, formerly of Phillipsburg, was pronounced dead on arrival at Gnaeden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, on Saturday.

Mr. Blalock a plumber, formerly was in partnership in Phillipsburg with his brother, Grady Blalock of Forks Township. He retired four years ago because of physical disability.

He was born Dec. 15, 1906, in Burlington NC, a son of the late John R. and Martha Councilman Blalock.

He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Blalock was a member of Phillipsburg Aerie 1372 Fraternal Order of Eagles, and American Legion Post 592, White Haven. He was assistant fire chief of the Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Co.

He was a veteran of World War II.
