Maurice was born May 9, 1911, in Pittsburg. She graduated from East Texas State Teachers College in 1932. She was an active member of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, James D. Cody, in 2004; her parents; sisters, Annie E. Harrison, Berta L. Bourland, M. Odessa Jones, Era May Taylor, S. Louise Grisham and Mary D. Debenport; and brother, Paul A. Strange.
Survivors: Daughters, Dr. Carolyn A. Cody of Estes Park, Colo., and Ms. Kay E. Cody of Allenspark, Colo.; nieces, Marianne Phillips of Fort Worth and Mary Herren of Denver, Colo.; and nephew, Bill Grisham of Stephenville.
