Spencer Bomar and his wife Mary Jane McWilliams Bomar came to Walker County between December, 1840 and November, 1841. They settled in West Armuchee/Green Bush with their three children. Spencer was a farmer, ran a store and acted as postmaster for the Green Bush community. Spencer was active in the Shiloh Baptist Church and served as Church Clerk from 1852 - 1879.
