He received his education at Auburn Public Schools and graduated from Auburn High School in 1982. He attended Peru State College for two years.
He worked as a security guard for Cooper Nuclear Power Plant. He was a member of First United Methodist Church all of his life.
On December 27, 1985 he married Deanna Nichols in Auburn, Nebraska. Three children were born to this marriage. David and Deanna later divorced.
David passed away in Peru, Nebraska, on November 22, 1996 having reached the age of 33 years and twelve days. He was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn on February 5, 1979.
Those left to mourn his passing are his father, George 'Dick' Wilson of Auburn, Nebraska; children Derek Wilson, Chelsea Wilson and Lindsay Wilson all of Auburn; one brother Richard Wilson and his wife Sandy of Auburn; two sisters Mary Ann Gelster and her husband Dan of Omaha, Nebraska and Barbara Fike and her husband Ken of Peru, Nebraska; and many friends.
