Services were held at Decatur United Methodist Church Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1969, for Devillo Brooks (D.B.) Watson. Rev. Glenn Kennicott officiated at the 1:30pm rites. Mr. Watson died, Dec. 6, 1969 in Onawa, IA, at Burgess Medical Center.

Mr. Watson was born July 30, 1887, at Quinnebaugh, NE, near Decatur, the son of Wallace and Eva Washburn Watson. He grew to manhood on the family farm. He attended high school in Tekamah and also completed some college work. On Nov. 14, 1917, he married Meta Angeline Busse. They made their home in the Decatur community all their married life. Three children were born to them.

Mr. Watson, known as Dee to all his friends, farmed for several years. He was also in the garage business for a time and manager of the local telephone company in the Decatur area. He and Dudley Beck were instrumental in starting the Burt County Public Power District. Mr. Watson was active on many village boards and positions in the community.

Survivors include his children: Leone Evelyn Watson Robinson of Omaha, Mrs. George Wilson (Kathryn) of Auburn, NE, and Wallace Watson of Syracuse, NY; seven grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, his brother Ivan, and his wife.

Pallbearers were Lyle Tippery, Glenn Tippery, Elmer Tippery, George Busse, Charles Busse, and John Warren. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.
