GREENSBORO - Charles "Chuck" Conley Cook, 89, died Sunday morning, December 10, 2006, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, at Guilford Memorial Park with the Reverend Billy McDaniel officiating.

For many years, Charles had been a resident of Greensboro Retirement Center and Evergreen Senior Healthcare.
Charles was born on September 23, 1917, to the late Rev. and Mrs. W.B. Cook. He was a native a Brookford, and lived for many years in Greensboro and moved to Houston, Texas, returning to Greensboro after retiring from the oil business.

He was a long time pilot, a member of the CAP, and served in both the Marine Corps. and the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Cook.

Surviving Chuck are his sisters, Mildred C. Worsham and Gracie C. West and husband Joe, all of Greensboro.
