Michael began working at Fleet Messenger Service, Inc. in the mid 1970's until the late 1980's He then began working for a Video Monitoring Service for several years before developing hand spasms (Myotonic Dystrophy) a muscular Disorder which made it difficult for him to continue working. He dealt with this disorder for many years, not letting it slow him down. He formed and was president of the Myotonic Dystrophy Society in New York for others who were suffering from the same disease.
Anyone who knew Michael knew he was always traveling somewhere with the United States to visit relatives. He has been to Tennessee, Indiana, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. Michael did not let only grass grown under his fee. He should have been nicknamed the "Traveling Man" for all of the adventures he took in his life. Michael was also a food connoisseur and frequented many restaurants throughout New York City and where ever he visited. Michael was known to travel near and for to partake in a meal with friends and family.
Michael Was also the family researcher and historian for the family. He with the help of his friend Ronald Walton, and found that we were descendants from a Plantation in Mecklenburg Virginia. He enjoyed most of all his visits to Tennessee to see his Cousin Brenda and her husband James. He enjoyed them so much that the often thought of moving there.
Now Michael is on his greatest journey of his life now that he has left us and gone home to the Lord. The Lord called out to him and Michael answered.
Michael is leaving three sisters; Anna, Mary, Cheryl and Kathryn (who preceded him in death; three brother; Lincoln, Alec and Thomas to mourn his passing. A host of nieces; Christina, Ianta, Kecia, Kimberly , Jene, Triscelle; nephews; Dickey, Dwayne, Andre, Reginald, Alex, Colby, Cory and many great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends near and far to mourn his passing.
