Mrs. Margaret Lee Sampson Collins passed away peacefully January 31, 2014. She was a native of Clinton, SC, where she received her early education. After relocating to Jacksonville, she later joined Bethel Baptist Institutional Church under the leadership of Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Sr. and Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr. She was employed with Metlife as an Administrative Clerk until she retired after rendering over 30 years of dedicated service. Other affiliations include member of the OES- Helen Baskerville Chapter # 698 and the Supreme Grand Chapter of America. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Collins. Survivors include her sisters, Mrs. Alberta S. Allen, Mrs. Janie Lofton and Mrs. Cleo McLaurin; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 14, 2014 in the Rufus E. Payne Memorial Chapel of the mortuary, with Elder Robert Dotson of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, officiating. Mrs. Collins will rest in the mortuary for visitation Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM (where the family will receive friends at 5 PM) and Friday from 9 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the mortuary under the direction of Alphonso West Mortuary, Inc., 4409 Soutel Dr.
