John F. Cerep died on Monday, March 2, 2009, at The Veterans Affairs Hospital in East Orange, N.J. He was 81.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Cerep lived in North Arlington before moving to New Brunswick 18 years ago. An Army veteran of World War II, he worked in the shipping and receiving department of Mallinckrodt Chemical, Inc. in Newark for over 33 years before his retirement. After his retirement he worked for the New Brunswick Parking Authority for 15 years.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Margaret Cerep of Bayonne; two nieces; four nephews, and his longtime friend, Billy Mayes of New Brunswick.
