Miss Laura Lorraine Ingram, 74, died September 9, 1997, at her home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 1997, at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her sister, June I. Bezera.
Miss Ingram was born to William Herman and Byrdie Garner Ingram, the fifth child in a family of seven children. She attended and graduated from Greensboro High School in 1940. She then worked at Bell Telephone until 1943, when she enlisted in the Coast Guard, and was assigned to duty at Constitution Wharf in Boston. She served as a communication specialist with the rank of CPO. After the war, she was a professional photographer for several years. She also worked as an organizing member of the local W.A.V.E.S. 44 unit, and was a charter member of Women in Military Service to America. Being talented in many areas, she sang in the Muirs Chapel Church Choir and was a member of the Choral Society of Greensboro.
Survivors include one brother, William N. Ingram of Greensboro; four sisters, Jewell B. Ingram, Judith Bohrer, Reva Fortune and Lucille Pauquette, all of Greensboro.
The family received friends Thursday at the funeral home, and other times will be at the home.
