Mr. Coy W. Coggin, 72, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Coggin was born in Lee County and had been a resident of Greensboro since 1954. He served in the Air Force for seven years, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He worked for Western Electric and AT&T for 35 years, retiring from AT&T/Lucent Technologies in Dec. 1989. He taught electrical apprenticeship courses at GTCC for many years and obtained his electrical contractors license after retiring from AT&T.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean T. Coggin and his father, Wilbur J. Coggin.

He is survived by his wife, Ann McKellar Coggin; daughter, Deborah C. Rushe; son, Randall C. Coggin and wife, Karen; mother, Beatrice G. Coggin; brothers, Jimmie, John W. and Thomas E. Coggin; sisters, Jewel C. Stone, Sylvia C. Adcock and Mollie C. Slate; grandchildren, Tara R. Sampson and husband, David, James A. Rushe, Christa A. Rushe and Allison N. Coggin; and great-grandchildren, Shane and Shaun Sampson.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.

The family requests that memorials be sent to Urban Ministry, 305 West Lee St., Greensboro, N.C. 27406 or Immanuel Baptist Church, 2432 High Point Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27403.
