HANSEL CLARKSON BEESON, JR. GREENSBORO Hansel Beeson, 82, a resident Greensboro, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20th at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407. Reverend Tempe Fussell, minister at Sedgefield Presbyterian Church where he was a member, will officiate the service.

He was born June 30, 1931, in Greensboro, NC and was preceded in death by his parents, Hansel Clarkson Beeson, Sr. and Nellie Mae Jones Beeson, and by his only sister Nellie Gretchen Allred. He graduated in 1949 from Curry High School in Greensboro, NC where he was a member of the state championship football team. After high school he served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a 1957 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - School of Business. He began his career with Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Co. in 1957 and remained employed there until his retirement in May 1994.

Hansel is survived by his loving wife Carolyn "Callie" Walters Beeson of 62 years, three children: daughter Lynda Miller and husband Don of Surfside Beach, SC, son H. Clark Beeson and wife Sharon of Jamestown, NC, and son Curtis Beeson and wife Ginny of Raleigh, NC, and four grandchildren: Erin Beeson Micciche and husband Mike, M. Ryan Beeson and wife Emily, Christopher Beeson, and Nicholas Beeson.

After his greatest love in life, his family, was his avid love of fishing which he passed along to his children and grandchildren.
