JAMESTOWN - Darrell L. Burns, of Jamestown, NC, died Thursday (11/22) at Evergreen Health Care Center, Greensboro, after an extended and courageous five year illness. Born in Guilford County, he lived most of his life in this area. Mr. Burns attended Guilford College, was a home builder (Darrell L. Burns, Inc) for over forty years, attended Sedgefield Baptist Church, and served in Austria during the Korean Conflict with the United States Air Force.

A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be conducted on Sunday (11/25) at 2:00 p.m. at the Sedgefield Baptist Church, 6007 High Point Road, Greensboro (852-2855), with burial to follow in Guilford Memorial Park, including Full Military Honors.

Surviving family includes his wife of fifty one years, Pat Burns, Jamestown; daughters andtheirhusbandsSandraand Philip L. Burns-Garrett, Oak Ridge, Janice and Rick Clemens, Greenwsboro; sons and their wives Jerry and Mandy Burns, High Point, Wayne and Wendy Burns, Jamestown; grandchildren Clell and Anna Clemens, Will, Ashlyn, Cory, and Jenna Burns; sisters Peggy Gullo, and Bonnie Burns, High Point, Lucy Comer, Albemarle, NC. Mr. Burns was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many.
